Historic North Route: Review by Jo

Map of Ethiopia historic North tour route: Lalibela, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Gherala, Mekele

Dani organised our two week Christmas Safari of the Northern Route seamlessly, with humour, efficiency and expert local knowledge. This is what he is really about: He’s local, he’s educated and speaks good English – most important of all, he’s wired into the local community.

Historic North Route Review

Testimonial from Jo

We spent two nights at each “hot spot” – Lalibella (how riveting it was to witness several thousand white clad pilgrims arriving to celebrate their Christmas in early January).

Lake Tana’s Zege peninsular where you will visit 13th centuary monasteries, Gondar for its ruined medevil castles. The rugged gorges of the Simian mountains, the rock churches at Gheralta and finally the heat of the salt mines and sulfer sculptured landscape of the Danakil depression.

All in all a pleasurable, unforgettable trip. Go soon before the masses invade….there were hardly any tourists. Bliss!
